Like many through the pandemic, I have been binge-watching many shows. One of the most recent is Steven Knight's "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix. It follows the Shelby family as they grow from a small-time criminal gang in Birmingham into a sphere of power and influence far exceeding their humble beginnings.

One of the reasons I began watching was due to Cillian Murphy's portrayal as Tommy Shelby. I have enjoyed his work for years and to see him evolve this character over time is a feat. These portrait studies try to capture that rough, gritty feeling of the Birmingham tone that runs through the show.
